The final for this event is scheduled for 26th Feb – Shoreline Leisure Centre, Greystones. The top three gymnasts form each group/level will qualify for finals, gymnasts should know in advance if they are available or wish to participate in the final should they qualify as deadline for entries are handed to Gymnastics Ireland on Monday 30th Jan.

Good luck to all the Renmore Gymnasts and have fun!

Jessica – Learning the Ropes

Hello!

My name is Jessica, originally from Canada (with an Irish dad).  You may have seen me around the gym over the past couple of weeks.  I am delighted to be joining the Renmore Gymnastics team.  It is inspiring to work with such dedicated people.  My role will be to answer any questions (from behind the sliding window) parents may have, set up meetings with coaches, take in leotards/payment – anything at all that I can do to help.

My background is in Fine Art having studied at Limerick School of Art and Design and Central Saint Martins, London.  So the second part of my job will be to document all the brilliant progress that the gymnasts are making both in photos and video that will then be available to view here on the website and also on our facebook page.

I look forward to meeting everyone!!

New Rings for Men’s Artistic!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

The new rings were installed last weekend, thanks especially to Brian, Ciarán, Yutaka and Rob.
The boys are excited, and well they should be, as they have been waiting the past 22 months for the rings! Six weeks of looking at the rings in the box was almost unbearable!
Ok lads, no more excuses…. go get ‘em!

Gymnastics Coach Vacancy

If you are an experienced and enthusiastic (former) gymnast living in Galway you might be interested in a coaching opportunity?

Due to demand for more classes, we’re looking to employ the right person to join a great team as a recreational gymnastics coach, up to 20hrs/week.

At Renmore Gymnastics, safety and the protection of children is of highest priority. The successful candidate will pass Gardai vetting, and must attend an appropriate child protection course.

Ongoing coach education will be provided as part of a competitive remuneration package. This is a good opportunity to begin or continue a gymnastics coaching career with one of the foremost clubs in Ireland.

An in-gym trial coaching experience will be provided in advance of probationary employment.

If you are interested, please send an email outlining your experience and availability to renmoregymnastics@gmail.com, attaching your CV, if you have one…

Training with Rick McCharles

All gymnasts and coaches at Renmore were really excited to have Rick McCharles visit us again. He has been a fantastic asset to the club, with creative game ideas and new drills. With every visit he has helped us either move forward on new skills or continue with ones we’ve started.

Thank you Rick McCharles!!

Well done girls!!

Celtic Cup 2nd Trial

We would like to wish good luck to two of our gymnasts, Ellen Hynes and Roisin Curran, both age 11, who will be competing for spots on the minor team (under 13) to represent Ireland at the Celtic Cup in April.

This is another first for our club as we have never had gymnasts able to trial for international competitions. There is one more trial in March to determine the final team for the competition that includes Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and Isle of Man. This year the competition is being held in Dublin.

The first trial was held during National Teams Championships where the girls with their team came 3rd and Ellen Hynes came 3rd overall.

This second trial will be held in Janz Gymnastics Club on Sunday 22nd January.

Good luck girls!!!!

National Squad Success

Renmore Gymnastics is delighted to announce the recent success and selection of two of our gymnasts onto the Irish National Squad.

Early December both Ellen Hynes and Emmeline Anghileri along with 4 other Renmore Team mates competed at the Irish National Teams Championship where a very successful day saw Renmore gymnasts standing on the podium. All results from this competition go forward for National Squad selection and we would like to congratulate these gymnasts for placing 2nd and 3rd overall in the minors section (Emmeline in 2nd, and Ellen in 3rd), securing their places on this years National Squad. Well done girls, it’s good to see all your hard work paying off!
Pictured Below also are some of our Pre-Minor members who train once a month as part of the National Irish Super Squad for under 10′s. (absent Kate Molloy and Daniela Goluba)
