Wow! What a fantastic week we had with members of our competitive gymnasts squad during the Annual development camp. Over 50 gymnasts participated in another competitive camp this week, and such tremendous work was done by both our Boy’s and Girl’s squads and their fantastic coaches. The development camp gymnasts included our levels 1-4 girls and our Boy’s comp squad. I hope they enjoyed the week as much as we the coaches did!

All gymnast’s present made such great progress, well done gymnasts! A special congratulations to the following gymnasts who won the 2012 Development Camp awards;

Level 1a – Sophie Zelatel
Level 1b – Leah McGrath
Level 1c – Laura Scanlon
Level 1+ – Nadia Daly
Level 2-4 – Nicola Lawless
Boy’s A squad – Keelan Coffey
Boy’s B squad – Cathal Murray & Patrick Flanagan

New skills award – Tom Kidd & Angelika Kolodziej

Recreational Camp #1 Photos!

Fun was had by all at the first RGC recreational camp of the summer last week.

Apart from a fantastic schedule of gymnastics training and games, new this year the gymnasts are learning about healthy eating.  They are identifying new kinds of fruit and making fruit kebabs at the Fruit Workshops taught by head-coach Sally.  An energy filled snack perfect for gymnastics training!

Also new are the Art classes taught by Jessica (PR) where gymnasts were asked to consider how the body looks in motion by sculpting a gymnast from clay and wire.  A challenge met by all!

Well done gymnasts!
